The National Maritime Museum of the Gulf is committed to making its exhibits, building, programs, and services accessible to all audiences.

PARKING

Designated spaces are available.

SERVICE ANIMALS

Registered service animals are welcome.

WHEELCHAIRS

The main entrance on the museum’s west side is accessible by wheelchair. If you require assistance, please call us at (251)436-8901 and we would be happy to help. Wheelchairs are available at Guest Services on a first-come, first-serve basis.

ELEVATORS

Elevators are located on both ends of the building. The north elevator provides access to event rooms, classrooms, the school lunchroom, and administrative offices. The south elevator provides access to the museum’s exhibit galleries.

RAMPWAYS

Sloping ramps on either side of The National Maritime Museum of the Gulf’s container ship also provide access via wheelchair.

SEATING/REST AREAS

We have seating on most of the deck areas. Many times, they are near the elevators but sometimes, they are located in different exhibit areas. If you are looking for a place to sit and cannot find one, please ask one of our staff members to help direct you to the closest area.
